BBMRI-ERIC stands for Biobanking and BioMolecular resources Research Infrastructure – European Research Infrastructure Consortium

BBMRI-ERIC is a European research infrastructure for biobanking. BBMRI brings together all the main players from the biobanking field – researchers, biobankers, industry, and patients – to boost biomedical research. To that end, BBMRI offers quality management services, supports with ethical, legal and societal issues, and a number of online tools and software solutions. Ultimately, the goal of BBMRI-ERIC is to make new treatments possible and increase visibility of biobanks.

BBMRI-ERIC consist of 21 Members: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Latvia, Malta, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. Observers: Cyprus, Switzerland, Turkey, IARC/WHO.
